Data storages are used to save the archived documents. JobArchive was developed in a way allowing different storage adapters to be used. Currently, a file system adapter and a FAST LTA Silent Cube adapter are avaialble. It will be possible to include additional adapters in the future. For example, a cloud adapter to save documents in cloud storage.
The file system adapter stores the documents in a folder structure below a definable directory. This data storage type can save up to a trillion files in each data storage.
The Fast LTA Silent Cube adapter stores the documents in a Silent Cube of the company FAST LTA. Files saved on a Silent Cube can only be deleted after a previously set time. The Silent Cube also ensures that archived files cannot even be modified by the administrator of a system.
All data storage types use data deduplication. When trying to archive a file, it checks if the file was already archived earlier. If yes, the file will not be stored physically again. Towards the user the file acts as any other file in the archive.
