The JobRouter can automatically import and synchronize users and groups from a directory service such as Active Directory or LDAP directory. This synchronization is done by the JobRouter service JobServer.
Importing users
The service checks at regular intervals whether user accounts have been created, changed or deleted in the corresponding directories, and the JobRouter system is updated automatically.
Through synchronization the following attributes are transferred to JobRouter:
•Username
•Last name
•First name
•Department
•Supervisor
•e-mail address
•Telephone
•Fax
Importing Job Functions
JobRouter also synchronizes Job Functions, and since Job Function synchronization uses LDAP groups as Job Functions in JobRouter, the LDAP groups show you which users are members of a Job Function. This also allows you to model your organizational structure directly in JobRouter. No other user data maintenance is required there.
Authorizing users
Users who are thus automatically synchronized into JobRouter receive no password. You must thus choose either the single sign-on method or an authentication against the directory service for the user account. If you delete a user in the directory service, the corresponding account is set to blocked in JobRouter and can no longer log in.
Access the LDAP/Active Directory Configuration Tools by clicking Configuration in the JobRouter navigation menu. The configuration tools overview will be displayed.
