Blocked users

In JobRouter there are two ways to block a user. Either the user has exceeded the maximum number of login trials and was marked by the system as blocked automatically, or a user blocked him manually. In both cases JobRouter considers him to be a so-called blocked user.

Validation of the maximum user number as defined in the license

As of version 3.7 blocked users are not taken into account when the maximum user number is validated as part of a license check.

Difference between blocked and non-blocked users

If a user is blocked, he is no longer able to log in to JobRouter, regardless of which authentication methods are stored in the general security settings.

It is subsequently not possible to assign a Job Function to a blocked user, regardless of whether User or the Job Function management is used.

If a user is blocked, he is no longer displayed in the JobRouter user filter. So it is no longer possible to store blocked users as Substitutes. This prevents also the Assignment of an open process step to a blocked user via Step Overview.

If you are a process designer using JobRouter Designer, and if you want to store a user via Process and System field, only non-blocked users will be displayed for selection.

Blocked users can not perform process steps, even if these process steps were assigned to them via user name or Job Function. This is also valid for users, who were blocked after receiving the steps.

Blocked users can receive e-mails from JobRouter further on, for example, via a system activity from within a process.

Additionally, it is possible for blocked users to perform an external process initiation.

Though direct access to provided Result lists via URL is not possible for blocked users.

In Configuration > General > Monitoring and Maintenance > Action Log information on blocked and non-blocked users can be found, if required (authorization for action logs is required). Blocked users are marked with BLOCK in the Action column. If a user was unblocked, he is marked with UNBLOCK.

Please note: If a user was blocked by the system automatically, two e-mails are send. The first one is send to the user, the second one to the administrator. Additionally, it is possible to read the text of the message in JobRouter under Configuration > General > Monitoring and Maintenance > Error Protocol (authorization for error protocol is required).
